Techniques Bass fingerstyle, using a pick and fretting hand technique are covered.  Includes an introduction to further techniques such as Slap and Pop and how to play Bass Harmonics.  Techniques are illustrated with 30 photographic examples.
Rhythm To get you straight into playing music, numbers are added underneath the initial Bass lines to indicate the rhythm.  Later on the rhythmical aspect of conventional notation is covered so you can use it in conjunction with tablature.
Music Theory Music theory is explained in terms of the fretboard.  A system categorising the major scale into three fundamental shapes is used, from which further scales and Bass arpeggios can be understood.
Creating Bass lines From root notes to 7th arpeggios. Learn to play Bass arpeggios using the 3-shape system, then play over technically simple music to allow you to develop awareness of the musical intervals (an essential skill for creating own Bass lines of your own).
Chord harmony Learn the modes of the major scale in terms of the fretboard with the three-shape system, then understand the basics of how chords are arranged within music and learn how to play Bass applying the Roman numeral chord system.
Stretching Stretching exercises with illustrations are included to relieve tension and help avoid pains and injury as you learn to play Bass.  How to practise is explained as well as how to string a Bass.
